Makin' My Way Downtown

Hi, my name's Zaf. What's up? My memory only lasts 10 seconds. I love bacon and eggs. Oh, did I mention my name's Zaf? What's up? My memory only lasts 10 seconds. I love bacon and eggs.

Wisdom is something “elderly exclusive”.

I have this neighbor who has a sari-sari store. Her name’s Lucy. Sometimes, I call her Lola Tindahan because I tend to forget people’s names. I have a very bad memory with names and so I always associate people with the things that they do, or objects that remind me of them.

Just like Ate Green in the office, the one from the Engineering Department.

When I am bored at home, I go to her place, sip some soda or energy drink, and talk to her about anything under the sun. This morning, while waiting for the washing machine to stop, I went to her place and we had some chit chat. We talked about her tindahan.

She told me how hard it is to maintain one. For a store to be successful, one has to have good management skills. I suggested for her to limit her listahan to about 10 items per person, however, she disagreed with me.

Eh hindi naman mangungutang yan kung hindi kailangan diba?

I told her that I think it should depend on the items/goods being purchased. Like chips or soda for example. These two are only wants, not needs, and so her store deficit will definitely be smaller if she will impose this kind of rule to the consumers.

Plus, she will be teaching the consumers some sense of responsibility when it comes to spending. It’s just like credit card. That’s the reason why I don’t bite the baits of credit card companies. They say that it’s more efficient since you will have the power to purchase something even though you are out of cash.

This should not be the thinking of people. You should not be spending something that you don’t have.

Save up, save some more, and that’s the time you can spend your hard-earned money worry-free.
